Shalom Chaverim*ot! We’re so excited to introduce you all to the latest addition to our Year-Round Team, our new Office Administrator, Sasha Wittes Libin. We asked Sasha a few questions to help our community get to know her. Have a read below, and we can’t wait for you to connect with her at some point throughout this year! Shana Tova, everyone! It is officially Fall – the air is crisp and cool, the leaves are starting to change, and the warm tasty beverages are abundant! The arrival of Fall also means the start of the Hashomer Hatzair 2020-2021 programming year, which is the most exciting of all things Fall. We have got an amazing year ahead of us, with a combination of virtual and in-person programs; incredible opportunities to stay connected, build meaningful relationships, and engage in important and explorative educational processes. Hashomer Hatzair and New Israel Fund of Canada have partnered to enrich our existing Israel education with a wider array of perspectives on civil society in Israel. This partnership is based on the shared values of our two organizations.
As the Madrichimot and Chanichimot embark upon this new learning this summer, we want to invite partents/guardians to experience some of this curriculum and participate in these important conversations We are offering three free Zoom sessions. Feel free to register for one, two or all three sessions! Click HERE to sign up! We are so excited to announce that we are launching an institutional educational partnership with New Israel Fund Canada (NIFC). This is a partnership based on shared values and we are pleased to be working together.
Stay tuned for the details about educational programs coming in the very near future! Click here to visit the NIFC website to learn more about them! We hope you're as excited as we are, because virtual Kenim will continue to run up until June 27th!
Stay in the know about all upcoming events by signing up for our newsletter and checking out of Facebook and Instagram pages! Hashomer Hatzair Canada is a part of a larger community; the Hashomer Hatzair World Movement! Interested in what's going on in Hashomer Hatzair around the world? You can read the new Hashomer ITON (newspaper) down below! The ITON includes articles, photos and recipes from Shomrimot all over the world. Dear Hashomer Hatzair Camp Shomria Community,
Like you, we are concerned about the global spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and wanted to let you know that we are closely monitoring the situation as part of our preparation for the coming season. Camp Shomria, together with all of our partners in the summer camp industry, is maintaining ongoing communication with our health and safety committees, led by and in consultation with physicians. We will follow any protocol that they, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), and our local health departments recommend. Community is very important during times like these and we recognize the unfortunate reality that we cannot be physically present as a community at this time. However, we encourage our community members to support one another through alternative platforms such as online or phone. The Hashomer Hatzair Camp Shomria team is here to support and answer questions you may have. We have introduced weekly online kenim and hope you will take part in these events. For more information about the online Kenim, please refer to our newsletter or email [email protected]. Over the coming months, we will be closely monitoring the situation and will share any updates we have in a timely manner. As always, your children’s health will remain our top priority. Thank you & Chazak Ve'Ematz, The Hashomer Hatzair Camp Shomria Team
