Hi again!
Now that we concluded our terrific first week of camp with a beautifully inspiring shabbat, I thought it was a good time to write another update here for you all.
On Friday, our Yedid group (grade 10) came back from their tiyul (canoe trip)! The tiyul went very smoothly and was a memorable experience for all of them. Upon their return, they got off the bus with huge smiles on their faces and were eager to shower and prepare for shabbat like the rest of us had been. We spent the day learning about Shabbat in small mixed-ages groups, focusing on the theme of 'rest' from a secular perspective by reflecting on our daily lives. We had a lovely first Friday mifkad; it is always incredibly moving and spiritual to see everyone wearing their Shabbat whites. From mifkad we all headed to enjoy our big Shabbat dinner after singing together and doing the blessings.
On Saturday, we enjoyed a traditional Sports Saturday! We were all divided into mixed-ages teams and rotated to play each other in a variety of sport matches. Team Canada took the trophy in an intense basketball game and the spirits, enthusiasm and ‘ruach’ were electrifying!
Check out our Facebook Page where you can watch a video to summarize this week. We are also updating the photo page regularly, so keep checking it out!
Wishing us all a great week,
Mihal
